  • Oh, and an afterthought, the 6AQ5 is the exact electrical and sonic equivalent to a 6V6, only in a 9-pin miniature bottle. Actually, a lot of old low watt combo amps used this tube, and in single-ended config with a high gain pre, it breaks up like a 6V6 . . . . . . only maintains more clarity in proportion to the level of harmonic distortion. Fully saturated bar-chords ring out with all the individual not separation of a compressed clean. 6AQ5 is a special tube, also great for a tube P.A. amp.

  • Not single ended, it's push/pull, unless it's not the 12 watt version. If it has a pair of power tubes and only one output tranny, it's not SE, it's class A/B push/pull. . . . . . . . not that I don't love it anyway! I love all my own point to point wired push/pull amps, I love my SE amp in a different way, that's all.

  • Fuckin boner, man.

  • daaayuumm i want one of dems. make a demo with it cranked with that esquire.
