2:19 City of blinding lights?

You can hear a distinct ghost of "I know I'll Go Crazy if I don't go Crazy Tonight" in the first few bars of this too, I wonder if that song also grew out of older B sides?
IT's amazing to be able to hear early takes of songs compared to what they eventually turned into, gives me great hope as a songwriter that it's ok if things don't come together right away when writing something!

It kinda sounds like With or Without You during the verse.

@MrU2man - you are so right, I love that album

Superb, thanks for the memories . "And if you dream then dream out loud" Great line eh?

@Carelesshottie1 Exactly @mixelangel. Back in the vinyl days (and of course carried into the CD age), a 7" single would have a "B" side to the "A" side. Often, and at BEST, these were songs not released on the album corresponding to the "A" side it was promoting. The Smiths were great at this, The Beatles, U2, REM. The greatest were one off singles with the A/B both new songs unavailable on LP...i.e "A Celebration/Trash, Trampoline & The Party Girl" by U2.

Try Unknown Caller, Magnificent, Breathe, FEZ, I'll Go Crazy, Stand Up Comedy, Cedars of Lebanon, White As Snow - FUCK IT - try the ENTIRE album - it's AMAZING!

"the soul needs beauty for a soulmate"
That same lyric was used on "A Man and A Woman" from HTDAAB
