An excerpt from the film Uganda Rising showing in a (very!) brief overview the utter decimation of Africa that took place via colonialism and the so-called "Scramble For Africa."

Despite the film's focus on Uganda, I think this excerpt sheds light on just how much of the violence that we see today actually has a colonial/European precedent rooted in exploitation and racism.

  • @tinmahanb Americans, maybe. But Europeans and Chinese get along just fine. By the way, many Chinese are white by their skin color, Koreans and Japanese even more so.

  • @eristars Arabs did similar thing, and other races too over the course of history.

It's called DIVIDE & CONQUER, oldest rule in the book. Used by EVERYONE.

Europeans just were too fucking effective in it.

  • Ronald Reagan Okumu, your parents are idiots for giving a name of a douche. SMH.

  • @eristars The scramble for africa is not a unique case in history. so its just repeated things from earlier times

Because of my previous post, the Euorpeans believed in God, Glory and Gold (look up that phrase sometime). The Europeans wanted wanted cheap labour as a result of the Industrial revolution; thus their expeditions were sent out for slave labour. Plantations served to fuel the industrial beast; this combined with their 'apex culture-esq' attitude led to the oppression and abuse of the African people. The Europeans wanted something and this was the best way to achieve it.

  • @Shrike2101 you did not answer my question. all i heard was passive language "because power got to the heads of leadership" and so on. no,it is because they are evil. africans visited america before the whites and left peacefully. why didn't the europeans do the same as the africans?

  • @cherubicnerd

These things happen because power got to the heads of the leadership, the the perspectives of the Europeans were much different then than now. They believed themselves to be justified, because of their civilization, military, politics and culture. Which, due to being able to expand as an empire, led them to see themselves as the apex of the human race; thus believing that all other cultures should follow the same path. God has no place in this, it is a complete human endeavor.

  • the europeans have done so much evil as a group that it is hard to not equate them all with evil. i don't understand why these things happen. if the christian god is so great, why did he sit up there on his throne and allow this to happen?

  • @JediMastaWyn Great question!

  • @KickWhitesOutAfrica Dont worry The Chinese will kick out these white people and the imf.
