  • "I'm just what I am"

I don't think you can truly understand this unless you've been in this situation---a 30 something with no fixed course. Our parents want so much for us and then they feel like failures when we aren't successful....or rather, successful by some predetermined standard...

This is such a great work!

  • My father always said to me that fredrich march was his favorite willie loman, after looking for this movie for 40 years, at last i get to see what he meant, thank you very much for this, it means a lot to me, i love dustin hoffman's portrayel, but i like this one a bit more.

  • good movie

  • outstanding

  • "Biff" has by played at a top level by other actors, who were properly cast. McCarthy was probably chosen as part of some dirty Hollywood deal to turn him into a "movie star."

  • The casting of Kevin McCarthy was a huge mistake in the masterpiece. He doesn't come across at all like a jock....facial appearance, body language, physique, attitude.

  • ya i can understand why the playwright doesnt want his flash backs to look like dilusions or halucinations. To me this play is about pointing out the flaws of the "american dream", and a lot of ways people are. by making him seem crazy it takes away from that and all we can say is that all these things happened because he had a mental disorder, and no because of his morals or ethics or pride.

  • I saw this when it first came out in the early 50's; was quite young but it made a powerful impact on me and watching it again ...well,it's still just as powerful -a truly American classic by a Master playwright. Thank you for posting it here.

  • i was supposed to read this play for my english class...so glad i watched this movie instead, good stuff

  • @KelferMookie

Well basically, Willy was trying to kill himself in order to get the insurance money to help Biff and Happy and that's what the $20000 was

  • so why did he kill himself? did it have something to do with Ben talking about $20,000? dollars?

  • thank you had to read it for school nd was bummmed caus elooked laame but actually enjoyed it alot thanks
