Kurt Wimmer's final cut of Ultraviolet was a little over two hours, and what we recieved was a blasphemous and ripped 88 minute version with many different sound effects, scores, and lack of various scenes in which were key to the movie's sensibility. Support a director's cut for Ultraviolet! One that will show his vision of what the film was. The entire cast and crew deserve something more than what Screengems has done, including Milla Jovovich, William Fichtner, Nick Chinlund, and Mike Smith.

  • I would really like to see a directors cut. I didn't realize they had cut so much out.

But it makes sense, while watching the film I thought to myself, 'this movie has potential' but there was just way too many action scenes and not enough emotional plot.

  • damn. i just say the movie and loved it. But if there is an extended cut. good lord that would make the movie a billion times greater :)

  • @Metallicakicksbutt Equilibrium was actually a good movie. Ultraviolet wasn't really his once Screen Gems came in a changed everything. And looks like joke's on you, he produced and wrote two major movies recently that both actually performed very well with the general public.

  • Thank you so much for making this. I have a personal dog in this race and I appreciate you putting this out there, I really do.

  • The same could be said for the original screenplay of SALT. Believe it or not, that script was literally the most beautiful, romantic, and heartwarming script I have ever read. If you look for it online search under the original title, "EDWIN A SALT".

  • I think Kurt Wimmer is a brilliant filmmaker and not sure why he's not appreciated more than he is. Ultraviolet had something distinctive about it which was not fully realized in this studio version. Nonetheless it was mesmerizing and I wanted more. Wimmer's, “Equilibrium” had this same kind of brilliant action and philosophical dilemma. Loved Equilibrium. His films always deliver rich, deep characters along with a superb visual experience. I would guess he's just a man before his time.

  • The first time i saw this movie was the UNCUT version and i loved it! So emotional on the beginning, then i saw it on the TV and it was a cut version it lasted like 10 mins and no fucking plot at all, the uncut version has a unique scene on the beginning that i loved and more things on the movie in general.

  • i thought the movie was uber cool with tones of ideas but it is clealy re-edited. Shame that we can not watch the two hour version that wimmer had in his mind. Hate executives! they do not know shit!

  • Screengems is worse than fox, I hate Censorship and ANY altering of the directors Original vision, and for what PG-13? PG 13 is for pussies. Liked this movie could have been better with a new cut, with 2 discs, make it 3 for klaus badelts score.

  • I actually liked the move but I do think the directors cut will make it even better, I thought the film was artfully made and I sensed something was missing.

  • All Screen Gems wanted was a pure action movie, and not the one Wimmer set out to make, which is a shame where films like Resident Evil and Underworld they let the filmmakers have total control. I'm a bit confused as to whether or not to buy the Blu-Ray disc will I be giving Screen Gems money, full stop? Or will I be giving Screen Gems money that will add up over time that we will get a more finished & coherent director's cut? For shame Screen Gems, I thought you were cool. But you've changed...
