Now for something COMPLETELY different!
Here is a real "toe-tapping" track from an L.P. I bought (about a quarter of a century ago) when I was working in Brazil for a couple of years. Although they choose to call their music "Dixieland", there are some really fine solos that reflect a much earlier, N.O., jazz tradition.
What do my 'regulars' think?

  • I am not as smart as those guys in the comments, and I have actually no clue about what they're talking about. But I think it's really fun to see that there still is people who enjoy jazz. I'm 18, and have fallen in love with Jazz, and my friends think I'm weird for listening to this kind of music, but it's just so enjoyable. I really love jazz.

  • @papprapp

    Stay with it, Alex!!

There's more to it than your "friends" can see, and age doesn't come into it !

    Regards, Clive.

  • Hi Clive. Any chance of posting some more of the titles on the record sleeve? You have put up some first class stuff over the years. Dunno where you dig it up from, but keep diggin.

  • I like the music.

Agree, this is much more in the NO jazz tradition than what we call Dixieland.

Strange; the oldest recorded jazz is from a band called the Original Dixieland Jazz Band from N.O.!!!!

  • Hi MoleDFigg!

Thank you for sharing this nice music. I agree with you: it's more close to N.O. than to Dixieland.

  • Clive, I think apart from the solos, the rhythm section definitely has that old N. O. feel about it, certainly not dixieland. Very enjoyable just the same. Good post Thanks Ed
