This was STL last revenue flights!

Flying on an L-1011 was as close as you could get to a 747, loads of room and a smooth aircraft. All the planes now just seem so cramped.

Great view at :36

SW has been around for a long time. Try wikipedia.

Holy shit southwest was around at this time... wow thought they were created in 2000

@pdmad It's good, I didn't even notice the MD-80 until you mentioned it. We were both right lol
-
@phillyslasher Sorry, you are right, at 4:07 that is a DC9. They were retired not long after this was shot. I thought you were referring to the red MD80.
-
@pdmad The one in the foreground? I'm almost positive that's a DC-9
-
@phillyslasher No, MD-80. It was a symbolic "Employee Plane" after TWA became owner-employee and was painted in a reverse scheme.

When I think of the days I used to go to Breech Training Academy to pick up my tickets and see vids like this it really makes me sad to see the TWA brand gone away.
I wish Lockheed would make a commercial plane again!

Actually, to get real technical, I believe the last revenue TWA L1011 flight was between LAX-JFK back in 9/07.
Thanks for the video. My Dad was a pilot for TWA for 39 years and my Grandfather for 38. The L1011 was my favorite aircraft in the TWA fleet.
