  • Couldn't tell what was being done at :43 and the one right after that. Anyone know?

  • Hello! At :43 Hokama sensei is pressing into the joint of my little finger using his nail. I've found this near impossible to replicate myself, but he seemed to be able to do it every time.

The technique after is a finger strike to the back of my hand. He uses this to make the hand open from a fist, for example to make the person drop something they are holding on to.

  • Hi Mario. I have to laugh every time I watch this clip. Sensei seems to be really enjoying himself! LOL

Did he ever get you by the little toe? Never felt pain like it!!!

Really enjoyed your latest blog entry about Toguchi sensei's book, by the way.

    All the best!

  • Hokama Sensei is so great!! I miss seeing him. I took 3 students and spent an aftenoon...had more smiles and more enjoyable moments of Intense Pain than I can remember. Wonderful teacher and caring person. Should you ever get the chance to visit Okinawa, don't miss a trip to his dojo and museum!

  • Hokama Shinshi has a remarkable knowledge of, and ability in, kyusho/chibudi.

    Thanks for sharing!!

  • HOLLY CRAP !!!! I WANT TO GO THERE!!!!

  • I once read the definition of laughter in a 1958 Encyclopedia Britannica: Spasms of relief that it is not happening to you.

    *laughing*

I sure wish I could see what he was doing with your hand. Our Kyoshi teaches you to keep that thumb in with something he calls "The Thumbinar." Thank god I've only had ONE.

  • Sorry to thumbs up to your pain, mate. But that was pretty good!

  • Thats just so good thank you

    Sensei

  • Sensei no dojo ha kadena gunkichi no tonori ni arimasuka? Watashi no gunjin jidai ni tabun kono dojo he ikimashita. Dojo de okinawan no bujutsu no bijutsukan ga arimasuka. Gomen nasai Boku no Nihongo ga hetai tomo imasu. Domo arigatogozaimasu

  • Great stuff. I "enjoyed" several times this sort of training when I visited Hokama sensei's Kenshikai.

Hokama sensei is really a great sensei!
