I started working at Sonic a few days before Halloween (one of the busiest days I've seen so far stupid 50 cent corndogs :D) and a few weeks later our GM says that by the time it starts warming up it will be mandatory for carhops to skate. I haven't skated since I was in elementary school (like 8 years ago) so do you have any tips on getting back into it? and are inlines better than the derby style skates?

@ReaderWriterFilmaker Its different for different people! Whatever you feel more comfortable in.... whenever i started skating at sonic again it had been years since i had ever skated but once you get the hang of things and it all comes back to your mind its easy like second nature! jsut dont worry while ur on them just let every thing come naturally ....and yes 50 cents corndogs suck!!!

so....how about im 15 and just started working at sonic and i was taking out 5 route 44 slushies, stepped off the curb and fell backwards onto my back, while the 5 slushies rained different colors on me. awesome, right? haha im having problems stopping without using a stopper because i dont want to tear my skates up, so if anyone has any tips, tell meeee :)

@LoLoNfriends I have been working for sonic for a year..... was a carhop recently moved up to management! try turning your skate to the side its how I stopped! and how every carhop I have ever trained or really worked with..... hope it helps =)

I have worked at sonic since dec 06... (getting my way through school.. I started with inline skates but they hurt my ankles, and then i went to derby style (carrera. I love those skates) well a couple years and skates later i honestly could not walk at sonic anymore,. I was forced to skate (mississippi gulf coast does not allow walkers) and i would not have it any other way :D
