You have to understand these dogs are highly valuable. They are out there saving lives every day and they LOVE what they do. They willing work and aim to please. It's not like they are forcing a dog to go back and serve instead of giving him retirement. They are giving him back but he loves to do. I was a tech at this hospital for 3 years in the Army and they are incredible animals. I would not trade a second of my time there for anything. They are truly inspiring. They are true heroes.

I'd like to ADOPT when he does retire. I had the priviledge of meeting TOPSAIL. He had just had his surgery when in ICU, I kneeled down and said to him, "C'mon Marine, you can make it". Then walks in a Tech and chuckles and says to me, FIRST TIME I EVER HEARD ANYONE CALL A LABRADOR A "DEVIL DOG". I then looked at the technician and said "it's a MARINE thing...you'll NEVER UNDERSTAND!" I am a former MARINE and would give TOPSAIL a "LOVING" home. "SEMPER FI"

I'm ALWAYS "DISGUSTINGLY IMPRESSED" by the LIMITED BRAIN CAPACITY of some viewers... DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT TAKES TO train these dogs. OR how many PUPPIES ARE REJECTED for EVERY dog that makes it?. DO YOU THINK THAT every man n' women that APPLIES to be a solider makes it threw basic training for that matter? YOU ARE 'NOT' TALKING ABOUT JUST A DOG... you are talking about a soldier- dogs that MAY JUST SAVE YOUR ASS one day from a bomb exploding in the subway n' LOSE theirs. Their hero's
