A panel including two game show legends, Bill Cullen & Gene Rayburn, cross-examines the founder & publisher of MAD Magazine. Dick DeBartolo, who was collecting paychecks from both Gaines and Goodson-Todman at this point, pops up during the credits.

  • im not sure how this game works

  • Three people claim to be the same person. One IS that person and must give truthful answers. The other two are imposters and they can lie all they want. Panel has to grill all three of them with questions and vote on who the real person is.

  • Great video, anyone know what the card says that they're holding over Dick's chest at the end?

  • It didn't show up well after I compressed it. Gene drew an arrow and wrote "DeBartolo - Writer"

  • What an amazingly superficial comment.

  • Your probably right, but I'm speaking romantically, of course! Bill Gaines taught us Mad readers, eventhough we were to dumb to know it, to question authority, be suspicious of coorperate america and question authoity and comercialism amoung other things. He really was a great teacher because he taught using humor and we didn't even know he was doing it to us!

  • Some of it has worked, but I don't care for the spit jokes they seem to do a lot. Makes me sick and have to cross the stuff out.

  • It says in the ending credits 1970. This was probably aired in '70 but taped in '69.

  • True, and he was on staff from the mid-80's until 2008 when MAD downsized.

  • I didn't see Kitty point to Gaines and say, "It's obviously not him because the publisher of MAD is a successful businessman and well, just look at him." That was mentioned in Dick's great book.

  • Actually, if you go back to his earlier days in the 50's and 60's, he did have a crew cut and was clean shaven. At the time this aired, he had just grown his beard and mustache and let his hair grow long as it was graying. He also wore ties more often in those days.

  • I guess they didn't know who Berg was either.

  • Well, at that time he might not have been as famously known in the sense of what he looked like.

  • You mean Elaine?
