Jamie was born on April 27, 1984 to Andy and Joy Jarboe at Fort Bragg, NC. Biography Sgt Jamie Jarboe was deployed to FOB Wilson February 28, 2011 with the A Troop 4-4 Cavalry First Platoon out of Fort Riley, KS this was his third deployment.

While on patrol Sunday April 10th at 7am he was struck by a bullet from an sniper the bullet pierced through his neck damaging his trachea and fracturing his spine.

Jamie has been in patient in Washington DC since April 12, 2011 at that time we have been told he will be quadrapalegic, he has no use of his legs, minimal use of his arms. Unfortunately, he has a tear in his esophogus in which he is unable to eat and has a jejunal feeding tube, he has a stent in his esophogus to try to seal the tear, however, year to date it has been unsuccessful. Due to the tracheostomy that he has in which he has to use a speaking valve to talk as his vocal cords are paralyzed at this time, they believe and are testing for an tracheaesophogeal fistula in which his wind pipe and his esophogus have been connected as one. While battling these issues he has also been diagnosed with number infections and is on strict contact precautions.
