The pleasure of finding things out.

One of the most brilliant theoretical physicists talks about his life, motivation for learning, and his interests towards science and physics in general during an interview in 1981 with Horizon.

  • curious fact, the number of views for the 2nd video in the series falls to a third of that of the 1st video. however, the number or views are more or less stable (though declining) since that for each subsequent part of the series.

  • @donottrytobend This is an unfortunate statistic I also noticed originally for many other videos as well, patience is an uncommon virtue as well as an innate sense of intellectual curiosity. This is also something he mentions in this clip about the difference between his son and daughter.

  • Amazing video, thanks for sharing SquirrelGott.

On a sidenote, I couldn't help but hear "I can't believe the special stories that have been made up about our relationship to the universe at large" with my brain adding the autotune effect from A Glorious Dawn.

  • @SquirrelGott

Not really, are you seriously expecting that all those people of varying tastes, backgrounds, genders... whatever, are going to watch the first video and go on to watch the rest, or that it is strange that they didn't? I would have predicted it and bet real money that the views levels in such a way.

  • What a great man. Thank you so much for the upload.

  • i was kinda sad that he didn't went on and on ... we seriously need more people like him

  • I had to sign in to comment. But I think it should be noted: Feynman is truly a wonderful scientist.
