smaller than you thought it would be? I bet it will be enormous when you stand next to it...737's also look small from a distance, but when you're boarding one and standing next to it on the stairs, even a 737 looks quite big (especially the tail, when you take the rear stairs)

I remember seeing this parked at the terminal when I was going back to Bermuda... made an Embrae ERJ-175 taxiing next to it look like an ant, haha. Beautiful, monsterous bird!

You can stand there all the time... just that the area we were all in is "restricted" as you come in theres a gate but no one checks if you actually work at the airport. Also along that road is no stopping signs but you can park at the bottom of the hill where theres a sort of loop road.
