Amtrak #7 @ Track Speed through Monroe, WA

Amtrak's morning Empire Builder #7, led by Amtrak P42DC #207, highballs through Monroe, heading for Seattle from Chicago, breaking the early morning quiet. The friendly Amtrak engineer waved. Note Andrew Kim waving at the engineer with me. Right after we got that shot, a friendly Monroe Police Officer arrived, and he told us we were technically borderlining, but not enough to get a fine, and the officer was very friendly, and asked us to be safe, and have fun railfanning. Amtrak Train #7 was about 15 minutes late.

It seems from these videos that the US has a really dated rail network, Europe (especially France) is leading the way.
