jonsmithman: I was shooting out the window of a car at probably 300fps. Nothing special about it beyond that. To be honest I'm not sure exactly why it looks like that, but I love the fact that it looks that way.

I've never tried it, but to be honest, I think it might be problematic. The app requires a lot of horsepower and memory even with smaller videos. Also, the bigger the video is, the more extreme the slit-scan effect is -- so unless you're dealing with extreme slow-motion, it's going to get really distorted really fast. You're welcome to try it, though!

    Hi Naomi,

Yes, all of this was done either with the final version of the Slit-Scan Movie Maker or with a prototype that I built first (which worked exactly the same way).

    Hope this helps,

    trevor

Hey trevor, what exactly were you doing with the camera in the last shot? Were you simply shooting out the window? It seems that objects in the foreground stay clear while the background gets trippy.

Hi Trevor, very cool app you have developed!!, just wondering what footage were you working with? was it from a high end slow motion camera shooting at a high fps value or did you slow down footage in post production because my movies look really blocky and not as fluid as yours!

This was great! Reminded me of The Twilight Zone or Dr. Who! A psychedelic trip!
