In China it's NOT what U know but WHO U know. I married a Chinese wife & caring family in Beijing. My life is just great when I travel in China. I have taken trains all over China. It's always been comfortable but with blue eyes, blond hair & fair skin I have been a bit of a curiosity. All treated me well with open friendliness. My message- find a local friend, especially for the 2008 games. For the Chinese! Adopt a Westerner 4 the games. It will be fun!

There are still sleeper beds, but they are harder to get since there are so many people traveling!

I took the train and it was only 8 hours but they will run an even fast one cutting the time in half. I got scammed in Shanghai for chinese tea, if you were scammed in your travels report it at scamspottersdotcom

its much quicker now, less than 10 hours, but don't think they still have the sleeper beds
