"Send Me an Angel" is a 1983 song Initially released on Real Life's debut album Heartland and it is the band's most known song. The song originally peaked in early 1984 in the US at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The song's biggest chart success, however, was in 1989, where an updated version entitled "Send Me An Angel '89" surpassed the original version from 1983. "Send Me An Angel '89" reached a peak of #26 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the summer of 1989 in the US. Both versions are very similar; the '89 version is missing the louder "claps" in the chorus.
The song is about a man who asks himself whether he will find true love.

I love restoring old music videos and this one is no exception. it caused me lots of problems at first but it came out great in the end.
The source vob file I have, although of reasonable quality was very dirty, grainy and speckled. This source file a lot of people have in their collections. But it's so noisy with junk that its painful to look at. When scaling this to HD resolution all this crap was amplified to a disgusting level as well and it made me cringe. Most of this visual junk had to go. I don't know if the original makers of the video intended it to be this grainy and speckled or maybe the file I have just isn't a very good copy, but I couldn't stand it so I had to clean this up.
So the first job was to remove as much of this junk from the image as possible. I literally had to 'wash' it clean during 4 noise removal passes, each one calculated to target a specific band of noise. This was a very slow process but it had to be done carefully so that the image detail would not suffer noticeable damage. I stopped short of removing all this noise from the original. Unlike the 'Glow Version' I have already uploaded, this one has kept some of the noise/grain from the original file, because removing all of it made it look too weird or unnatural. The end result is a massive improvement over the original file I have in my library.
The colors and lighting have been tweaked as well. While doing this I tried to make sure that I brought out as much of the detail hidden by the darkness of the video as possible. I kept everything well balanced during this process and now you can see much more of the background detail that used to be hidden in the shadows. This is something that the 'Glow Version' I made of this clip lacks but I've decided not to redo that one.
Sound from the original file was crap and so I had to replace it from another file with a better stereo track. It has been run through a DSP processor to put some spark back into the sound. Much better now.
I've extremely happy with this video restoration and I hope you enjoy it. This is the best quality that you will find online for this video! :-)
Great video! The colors are so bright, the original looks so pale.
