Last rack of the 2008 World 8-Ball Championship in Fujairah, UAE. Ralph Souquet beat Alcano 13-9. Ralph played near perfect, never missed a ball, perfect positions, only 2 dry breaks. What a privilege to be able to shake his hands after. Great guy, deverses it.

  • The camera view may not be ideal, but hey man, I am a spectator, not the freakin TSN camera guy, and at least I was there, pretty good view from the player's stand, next to Jasmin Ouschan. Alcano probably fell asleep too, wondering if he was having a nightmare. Woke up the next day with a second place medal around his neck.

  • it took him 9mins to finish the whole thing.

his opponents usually lose due to boredom, cold legs and sleepiness co'z of waiting for their turn. lol.

and this is one of the many reasons why he's not an impressive player.

although he has my respect for finishing games.

    congrats ralph!

  • First time I personaly met him was when I went to the world 9-ball in Cardiff 2003, thought he had quite a big ego. But this time I saw a different kind of guy and was quite impressed by his human side. Truely respect him now. The guy's been through a lot, deserves to be at the top of the world right now.

  • Ralph is a great guy, I met him at Interpool Open in Gavle Sweden, he gave me his autograph and he was very humble and friendly

  • pool is a different game from snooker, which requires an entire rack planning before you even begin the first shot after the break. Unless you just want to shoot and not run out after the break.

  • what would you retards who complain about him being slow do under such pressure and nerves,I bet you would pee in your pants and rattle that you won't be able to hold your cues, stupid morons,it's a game that requires thinking not a race

  • wow i fast forward and it seem like nothing happen! wtf!

  • the 30 second shot clock needs to be a rule in every tournament..sheesh

  • lol it took him 9 minutes to finish 1 game of pool, ronnie o sulvian made a 147 in 5 minutes :P

  • @JohnSpikee if i was playing for the world championship i'd analyze every shot too just to make sure i won, once ur at this level, its not pool its a game of chess no matter how boring it is

  • This is a perfect example of why there is normally a shot clock. It would be nice to have a happy medium between this snail with no shot clock at all, and the annoying and quick buzzers some others have. I don't think it's ok to take this long to play your game, it's just not no matter how good or how deliberate you are there are supposed to be limits for everyones sake both your opponent and your spectators and everyone else waiting on the tables in tournament rotations.

  • he is soooooooooooooooo boring to watch.i dont care how good he is

  • i think this guy is trying to kill pool...

  • @garnyman He's one of the best players in the world. He's had success with his play style so who are you to tell a world class player how to play?

  • i was there baby !! Really fun tournament great people in U.A.E.
