GTA IV Gameplay #3 GTX 460 HAWK

Here is some more footage to show how GTA IV can run using a GTX 460 HAWK. In this video I am using a modded NRG 900 that weighs more than a normal bike and also goes faster.

Gameplay settings
resolution of 1920x1080
all in game quality settings at highest possible

Build:
Core I7 2600k overclocked to 4GHz
Asus P8P67 Deluxe
GTX 460 HAWK overclocked(850 core, 1700 shader, 1950 mem)
Corsair A50 CPU cooler
4GB DDR3 1600MHz.

Hey I have GTA 4 and it lags like hell! But the weird thing is that my pc should be able to handle it with ease:

Amd athlon X4 @ 3 ghz

4 Gb ram (2x2 gb) kingston valueram @ 1333 mhz

And of course the EVGA GTX 460 1GB GDDR5

Please give me some advice!!!

I would make sure that you don't have too many programs running in the background. Especially anti-virus programs can be really heavy on system resources. If an anti-virus program is trying to scan your computer while you are plying a game you would be likely to experience extreme lag. Also you might want to turn visual quality settings down and see how that impacts game performance.

What do you think about i7 2600k ? I am going to have a gaming build but if i take a i7 2600k not a i5 2500k CPU then i will kinda exceed my budget . So is there such a big and reasonable difference for the extra bucks ? Or should i get the i5 2500k instead ?

For any reasonable gaming needs the 2500k will be more than adequate. I got the 2600k because I could afford it and I wanted to build my rig to last as long as possible. I have never seen it much above 40% usage while playing any game. The 2500k should work great for anything you want to do with it. As long as you are not at really high resolutions (2560x1600) you should not run into any problems. Good luck with your build!

I am able to run the game with all the settings maxed out except shadows at high instead of very high. I'm sure the gpu could handle very high but there is not enough video ram. On those settings the game looks amazing. I would definitely recommend the 460 HAWK. I am running at 1920x1080 on almost all highest settings.
