The RMs did scout out Turkish positions at Gallipoli, this is true...but they also took part in landings at places like Ft Oswego...New Orleans, Crimean war...Chinese war of 1850s...except for one detail...They became a light infantry formation trying to mimick the USMC in the 1880s.

@USMarineRifleman0311 The Royal Marines have always had a slightly different role to the USMC they were put out there to actively find and destroy the enemy where as the Royal Marines were not all the time. you can't do nothing without half an army. again you no nothing the Royal Marines see have these mean called Mountain leaders and they scout out enemy positions (Brigade Reconnaissance Force). heard the story of USMC pissing on dead Taliban body unprofessional dickheads good at FF (USMC)

We won the battle of Sangin and Marjah only months ago. In 4 years, the entire British complement in Helmand couldnt do it. We only needed an expeditionary task force.

In Iraq we formed the cornerstone of the victories in Al Anbar.

In both wars, the toughest sector always went to the USMC, hence why your country lost Helmand to us in recent days.

the royal marines did nothing major since Al Faw, Iraq, under USMC leadership.
