Having the ability to observe both conventional and unconventional enemies is absolutely necessary to plan for our national defense. Intelligence specialists, like the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operator, are integral to providing Army personnel with information about enemy forces and potential battle areas. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operators are remote pilots of unmanned observation aircraft, who gather and study information that's required to design operational plans and tactics. Some of your duties as an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operator may include:

- Prepare and conduct air reconnaissance, surveillance, targeting and acquisition missions
- Deploys and redeploys the UAV ground and air system
- Plan and analyze flight missions
- Perform pre-flight, in flight and post-flight checks and procedures
- Launch and recover air frame from runway
- Perform operator level maintenance on Communications equipment, power sources, light/heavy wheeled vehicles, crane operations

  • @spennydenny Yes of course you can still take online classes. Your eligible for tuition assistance while on active duty (TA) which does not take away from your GI bill. You won't be able to take a full load of classes as you only get so much funding each year. See your local ed center on base for more info.

  • @BruteWisdom As long as you got a 105 in your SC you should be good.

  • @spennydenny You aren't doing BAT after your AIT?

  • @afkwtf This is my MOS as well. I ship 2012 July 30 for Basic at Fort Jackson, than AZ and than over to Georgia/Alabama for BAT

  • I leave at the end of next month for basic and then off to Arizona for AIT. Very excited and a bit nervous for this job. Is it possible to still do online college after AIT while staying active duty? I want to get a degree before my 6 year enlistment is up so I can hopefully go to OCS further down the road. Any info is greatly appreciated, :)

  • @BruteWisdom you'll have more then enough time for online classes. regardless of being Mortars or not. and no you cant choose if your B or C. it really just depends when u go to Sand Hill if your sent to a Mortar company or a light infantry company.

  • @BruteWisdom you just so u know. even as a 11B you can still fly UAVs. Im a 11B and right now getting certified to fly the Puma UAV, AND im in Afghanistan as we speak. We have someone who is certified to fly the Raven, and on a previous mission we brought it and would launch it when needed since its portable. and we are all Infantry.

  • it's ok

  • @OperationRebuild 11x is the enlistment option for 11B infantry (with choice of 11c indirect fire infantryman) I will likely be 11b unless 11c has more time to do online college classes. and that sounds like a challenging mos but also a fun one

  • @OperationRebuild Hey good luck in it bro, I talked to my recruiter and there is only like 2 mos available at the moment and not 15W. but i think i will just do my MOS 11x and maybe reclass into this if it still interest me,

Which UAV will you fly, shadow?Hunter?Raven ?(ihope its nott the raven)
