@GOLONDRINAS18 Fair enough. I haven't done much research on it since my post. What I found on the internet was information stating that it was derived from Hapkido. Whether it preceded, coevolved, is derived from, or is a contributor to Hapkido, it is still a very interesting art, and I enjoy these videos a lot. No disrespect meant to anyone in the lineage, and I readily apologize for my ignorance on the topic. :-)
last century or to gm choi. sipalki has been in grand master soo nam yoo´s (10 dan and highest graduation)family for at least 500 hundread years up to now. the family style is known by the name of ion by ryu (swallow´s secrets school, cause that bird is the national korean bird)
muye dobo tongji, ilustrated martial arts book. in 1552 under empereror request, the 56 tecnics arround where reduced to 12, plus 6 military ones , that makes 18 (sib fal). the book also talk about other 6 talking about 24 tecnics. happens that in that time one of the general´s of the emperor was called Yoo, part of my master family. the real point here is that even in korea now, what they think it´s sipalky, mostly of it it is not, it is the chinese kung fu named sibfalgui.
muye dobo tongji. that korean martial arts book is one of the eldest m a book. talks about sipalki (sib fal gui), and has nothing to do with hapkido that is from
the shippalgui that you are talkin´about is not even that. when korea was under japanice invation the first part of last century people from all arround came to korea. some were chinese. they brought kung fu to korea, and cause nobody knew what that was, the took the name from the most similar stuff at korea,( sib falgui) and first named it sib fal gui kung fu, and after just sibfalgui. so, the sibfalgui that you are talkin about is not even real korean sibfalgui.is undercover k fu
The shippalgi , the one teached in Korea is a reconstrucction of the muyedobotongji.. and if you look for videos or information is based on Chinese Kung-fu because of the inmigration in that time... this one , the Ion By Ryu is a family style ( i think ) and because of that is different
@TheMaxAwesome
nice to have an adult talk about martial arts, more if it´s about the one that i´ve been practicing for the last 25 years, which i love

@GOLONDRINAS18 have you ever read the Muyedobotongji?
arontao 1 year ago
@arontao
that´s why you said that sibfalgui is based on chinese k fu. that IS K FU.
and that one is not the one of the muye. the one from the muye is real sibfalki, the grand master soo nam yoo sipalki.
