This short film is inspired by "Vermeer's Women: Secrets and Silence" exhibition currently taking place in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge. The intentions behind it were to try and recreate the atmosphere streaming out of Vermeer's paintings onto film, while using some of his own key motifs, such as use of natural light, his tendency of using bright colours (most often cornflower blue and yellow), great attention to details, but most of all his portrayal of women's private life. Generally, it is an attempt to explore the secrecy and delicacy of a woman's inner world by showing the beauty of colours, the power of light, the quiet life of little things and the stillness in the action. Overall, I could say that I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the process of making this film and seeing it projected in Arts Picturehouse was an unforgettable and extremely inspiring experience.
