@palrobbie well its cool that you had veehd disabled , so at least people can know that a likely add on to disable can be veehd

Thanks. I used your good advice, but my veehd was in fact the second to last, not the last, add-on. So it is veehd, and not its position in the list. No doubt thare are other sources too.

this is recomended as a solution if you use firefox 4 i use firefox 3.6 well this did not work for me and i found the same solution on another website , this is how i solved this issue , i opened firefox addons and i just disabled the lastest addon i downloaded for firefox for me it was ((Veehd plugin)) after i disabled this yahoo didnt appear anymore in new tab , hope this can help others , thank you

This worked, then it came back (again)! Turns out it is sneaking in with Java! You have to also uninstall then reinstall Java, and watch for the check box asking if you want the Yahoo toolbar - un-check it. I think I am Yahoo-free now.

@kayeql There are multiple ways that Yahoo will hijack your computer. Java is one of them, but not just java.
Yes, once and a while it will come back. Unfortunately Yahoo thinks it has the rights to do this.
