I was a healthy 40 yo male. Mefloquine nearly destroyed my life. The first time it caused no significant side effects - just the usual sleeplessness, and I completed the course of six tablets with no lasting effects. So I thought it was safe for me. A few years later I used it again. On the 3rd tablet I developed major depression and lost 20kg within 2 months. It has taken 5 years to get back to (almost) normal. Still suffer from tendonitis, ears ringing, etc. Mef: invented by the devil himself.

Took it while in Iraq. Scary shit. And all the docs said it did nothing to us. Like they were trained to say it.

Actually had a phamasist question me about it. When I was in Honduras. They asked what pill I was useing for anti malaria. And I said mefloquin. They about had a shit.

at 5.00 did i hear that correctly any military force is subject to the most extreme of psyclogical problems correct me if im wrong please. His professional recomendation is that Lariam DEFINATLY should not be prescribed to these individuals EH - dosent add up
