Ah! On one more note... Mr. Slick, you remind me so much of a man named Richard Bastion. You might want to check out his radio show, I think you'd be surprised how alike you are.
The bad image that Christianity receives by the media and schools? How about the bad image that Christianity receives from Christians? Or is that spooky "liberal media" up to no good again?
Evolution is a fact. If you don't like it, cancel your health insurance. Modern medicine is impossible without evolution.
It is a fact that a literal interpretation of the Bible is false.
Christianity is not the solution to amorality. If you do statistics on crime rates vs religious tendencies in all the countries, clearly morality improves if you get rid of religion. Fact.
Christians seem to think that freedom of speech is offensive. It is a very intolerant religion on the whole.
We need apologetics in the U.S. specifically because illiteracy is rising among morons and we need $12 dollar books that read slow and easy. You can't throw Hemingway or Faulkner at the average American and expect them to recognize complex symbolism, you need books heavy on one-sided interviews and simple metaphors.
@stephe1987 when the BS in question causes people to kill themselves it causes you to stop and think if not questioning this stuff is a bad idea.
People don't like bullshit, least of all religious bullshit. If you don't like it mabye you should stop and ask yourself why so many people don't like having to listen to this stuff ALL the time.
Hint: it's NOT because we know in our hearts god really exists. Stop letting your condescension get in the way of your objectivity.
Apologetics are for inteligent people to take notice how much of an irrefutable bullshit the bible is even tho you guys try your best. Its also for the uninteligent who are unable to notice the obvious logical flaws strawmans falacies beign put out left and right so that hey can remain bound in a servitude position kissing hte priests ass. and you know what? good eventualy christians will become the uninteligent worker species while the minorities of inteligent people will govern the hive :P
I enjoyed this video and agree with just about everything Matt Slick says. However, I did not like the way he phrased reaching out to those distant from Christ - we are not called to "shut their mouths." Slick quoted 1 Peter 3:15, but should have finished the verse in reading: "But do so with gentleness and respect." God calls us to boldly evangelize, but this doesn't mean we should ignore other's opinions. Our number one priority should be to convey love to our brothers in sisters in Christ.
