Any time you do a line for line/tech for tech copy of a piece that has already been done it's probably going to turn out poorly. It no longer becomes interpretation and is just simple recitation. When good performers cut and block a piece, they tailor it to their own performance style so when you choose to make the same choices without justifying them it is very disconnected and shows. If you like a piece, buy the book, cut it, and block it yourself. Or else it will turn out shitty like this.
