  • @BehindPaleBlueEyes You use "civilian" like it's an insult. Why?

  • @MisterMarcoX -- I hat to burst your bubble, but @behindpaleblueeyes is correct. Walzing Matilda WAS giving to & adopted by the U.S. 1st Marine Division, commemorating the time the unit spent in Australia during the Second World War. This song 'belongs' to no one (other than someone duplicitous who copyrighted it in the USA).

It was, & still is, a song given out of fraternal love & appreciation for our US comrades in arms.

  • really good...but put some shoes on....lol.

  • @BehindPaleBlueEyes Calm down. I don't want to ruin a video where some lads sing Waltzing Matilda, that's one of my favourite songs with flaming comments. You can explain properly. As far as I know, and I also checked on Wikipedia and on the internet, Waltzing Matilda's text was written by Banjo Paterson.

  • MisterDORK - I said exactly what I meant. I don't need a feeble and false history lesson from some non-hacking civilian.

  • @BehindPaleBlueEyes What do you mean with "This song was a gift to an American military unit for saving the Continet from the Japanese invasion in 1942. We still use it as our marching song?". If you mean that the song was composed in 1942, you're wrong. It was composed at the end of the XIX Century .

  • They sang it proper. Unlike all these other "rock stars" who put their 'own' stamp on it and merely soil it and dishonor it but thats the mark of their own stamp.

    Fine work, children..

This song was a gift to an American military unit for saving the Continent from the Japanese invasion in 1942. We still use it as our Marching Song.

    Proper lads, proper now.

Its an honor to have such a gift from the fine people of Australia. We treat it like our own child.

  • nice work guys(:. i cant believe how professional you this is and how great you guys went at lismore today it was verry enjoyable

  • Nice :P
