The Tibetan Buddhist prayer flag is called "Windhorse," after the horse which carries the prayers of the faithful upwards toward the heavens. The Lo Monthang region of Nepal is home to a horse culture that is threatened by the encroaching pressures of the outside world. Composer Andrea Clearfield and artist Maureen Drdak trekked to Lo Monthang to study the music and art of this remote society -- the piece they've created celebrates Eastern and Western philosophy and art, and becomes a prayer for the planet we all share. The Group Motion Dance Company will perform world-premiere choreography to this deeply moving and spiritual work.

The concert also features exquisite chamber music for flute and harp by Toru Takemitsu, performed by Network for New Music ensemble members Edward Schultz, flute, and Sarah Fuller, harp.
