Camacho won legit titles in 3 divisions and also won another 4 titles if you count some paper titles- so it gives him 7 weight classes. He NEVER has been knocked out in 87 fights and beat guys like Mancini, Ramirez, Haugen all of which are in the World Boxing Hall of fame. He also beat Duran, Rosario, and Leonard all whom are in the International boxing hall of fame. Camacho rates very high in my list of P4P.

Naseem definately modeled himself on this guy. Can't help but think this kind of entertainment will never be seen in the ring again :,'(

@KenyattaSun7 Camacho was a beautiful boxer until that one left hook from Chapo, never the same again, although still effective, his whole style changed to being a runner after ONE LEFT HOOK!

man this is crazy watching the hiram bithron stadium hosting fights now they have them in the choliseo in p.r but the bithorn was a great venue.
Excellent post, been looking for this for a while.. This Camacho was a beast, but as we all know, that left hook from Rosario revealed Camacho's heart, or lack of...

@KenyattaSun7 I totally agree. Before Rosario, Camacho was and exciting, agressive boxer with outstanding hand/foot speed and fought with passion. After Rosario he was timid who didn't take chances and often moved around more than box.

This was the pre-Rosario Camacho. Notice how diferent: no holding, no running away after landing combinations, no punching moving backwards At this time he was awesome. More agressive, relying less on defensive tactics and moving in circles around his opponent instead of running away inside the ring.Too bad Rosario ruined him and turned him into a shameful safety-first coward.

While I wouldn't call him a "safety-first coward", he did indeed change once Rosario hit him with the big left hook in their bout back in 1986. He became less aggressive and less willing to take risk. As good as Camacho looked here, he was better in his bout with Jose Luis Ramirez when he won the Lightweight title. He definitely changed in terms of the way he fought priestpega after the Rosario fight, there's no doubt about that.
