Many people find the sound from the Flip Camcorder to be far too low. There are a couple quick and easy ways to solve this problem. In this video, I show you how to do it. I use two third party programs. One is Virtual Dub, which you can download and use at no cost. The good news is, you only need the free software that comes with the Flip Camera, Flipshare.

  • I trust you're not screaming. Hard to tell with the all caps. I'm talking about the Ultra and should have said so in the review. I'm glad you asked. Thank you.

  • Excellent video thank you :-)

  • nice one, cheers

  • thank u so very much ........ this really helped me

  • Great instructional video.

I'm having just the opposite problem. I just got the Flip Ultra HD and the sound is so loud that it is breaking up and distorted. This is the second one I got with the same problem. And, even when I use an editor to lower the volume, you can still hear the distortion. I contacted Cisco and they said it's normal for this unit. I'm thinking of returning it and getting the Flip Ultra (no HD) which, according to their website says it has a different type of mic.

  • WHICH ONE ARE YHU TALKING ABOUT. THE ULTRA OR THE MINO? IS IT HD OR REGULAR? PLZZZZZZ I GOTTA KNO!!!!!

  • great tip!

  • Im considering turning mine way down, due to i use it to record a live band,so maybe it will avoid distorting when it records

  • @LondonPoet Hey there I have a flip too and my videos sound fine on my computer, but when I upload 'em to youtube they sound all warbly and compressed (i think), any ideas that worked for you would be greatly appreciated!

  • AVS is not free... any suggestions?
