Karen Hughes Texas Tech University Spring 2009 Commencement Speech

Ambassador Karen P. Hughes, former counselor to President George W. Bush and under secretary of state, spoke at two undergraduate Texas Tech University spring commencement ceremonies.

Hughes served as counselor to President Bush from 2001-2002 and as under secretary of state for public diplomacy and public affairs from 2005-2007. Prior to that she served as director of communications in the Texas Governor's Office and directed communications during then Gov. Bush's successful campaign for Texas governor in 1994 and his campaign for re-election in 1998.

She currently serves as global vice chair of public relations and communications firm Burson-Marsteller.

WHY would ANYONE invite Karen Hughes to speak at ANY higer educational institution. SHE was the architect of the John Kerry politcal SMEAR which was based on LIES and financed by fascist political pressure groups.

I met her when she had an office at the ENRON CORP headquarters. She clearly underwhealmed us then and continues to decline in our estimation. She is no friend of American democracy and degrades the American political process and American society. She should be deported.
