At more than 1,013 feet, the Paul R. Tregurtha is the longest ship sailing the Great Lakes -- aka "The Queen of the Lakes." It takes more than 2 minutes for it to pass under the Aerial Life Bridge in Duluth, Minn. Here it is leaving Minnesota's northern harbor city on Lake Superior on the night of Aug. 4, 2008, just before 10 p.m. The music I've added is the finale to Respighi's Pines of Rome, "Pines of the Appian Way."
