why does everyone say the sherman sucks? it was perfect for its role. it was not meant to destroy tanks, so it should not be compared in that role to the late version Mark IV Panzer (75mm long gun), Mark V Panzer "Panther", Mark VI Panzer "Tiger", or Mark VI Ausf. B Panzer "King Tiger/Bengal Tiger". These later German tanks were made to destroy tanks. Sherman wasn't until it was modified with the American 76mm and the British 17 Pounder (making the later mentioned the Sherman Firefly).

OK, that was awesome.  now does everyone agree that Sherman was the best tank of World War 2? germans would scream like little girls when a Sherman showed up. it was the ultimate tank. i know, i was there.

the name of the Sherman ''Lucky Five'' is really apropiated. per\haps this Sherman survived an encounter with a Panther or even a tiger?

Nice video.

The Sherman was a light tank and an infantry support mostly. A later versions with more larger guns where of course a better answer to other tanks and vehicles.

this tank was good,easy to make,but up against a tiger???no chance it was not very user friendly and only its mass production was in its favour.let me sit in a tier anytime.
