Part 1 Summary: It's still absolute chaos on Llantano Mountain. Shane screams that his dad did nothing wrong, while Bo tries to get Brody to drop his gun. Brody's still reliving the horrible moment when he was forced to shoot an Iraqi boy -- and pulls the trigger! A single shot rings out as everyone hits the ground.
Gigi sits up and sees blood on Shane's shirt, but Shane's OK. She sees blood on herself and realizes she's fine. But Rex ... not so much. Turns out Rex got shot while trying to protect Gigi and Shane!
The cops surround Brody, who keeps repeating that he saved "him," meaning the little Iraqi boy. They take Brody away as Bo tries to stop Rex from bleeding out and Gigi orders Shane to stay with her, but Shane only wants to follow his "dad" Brody. Bo can't wait for the EMTs to arrive, so he scoops Rex up in his arms and runs to the hospital.
At the hospital, Michael works to save Rex. Gigi's so busy worrying about Rex that she doesn't notice Shane sneaking off.
Brody is taken to lockup, where Dorian (who's in there for contempt of court) mocks him. Addie, who's there to reassure Dorian she will find a way to help her get custody of Langston, recognizes that Brody's deeply troubled, so she tells him that if it hurts, it will heal.
At La Boulaie, Langston sadly takes pictures of Starr and Markko to remember them by. Markko thinks they should run away together, but Starr reminds him that didn't work out so well for Cole and her. Langston regrets looking for her biological family; she never expected her uncle to take her away! She begs Starr to think of some grand scheme to help her stay in Llanview, but Starr's all tapped out.
Over at the Buchanan mansion, Cole accidentally catches Clint with Ray, thanking him for a job well done. Cole accuses Clint of using Ray and Langston to get B.E. back from Dorian. Clint doesn't deny it; instead he acts super-cool and quasi-threatening. He goes on and on about how fond he is of Cole, and how he likes to reward loyalty. But Cole sees right through Clint and bravely tells him he's going to tell Dorian about this. After Cole leaves, Ray gets worried, but Clint's cool as a cucumber. After all, the judge awarded Ray custody, and there's nothing anyone can do about it.
At the Angel Square Hotel, Michael can't resist checking up on estranged wife Marcie. Marcie knows he's looking for an excuse to see her, so she lets him in. Mike gets all nostalgic seeing the crib Marcie's putting together for Starr's baby. They don't fight, but they do get all yearning-like, until Mike is called into the hospital to save Rex.
if rex hadn't stepped in the way to protect shane and gigi - brody would have shot and probably killed shane. you can see that rex took the bullet that would have hit the kid.:(
