A film helping to identify Fungi
Usually found below pines in autumn, it can have a cap that ranges in colour from Deep Violet through bluish purple to brownish purple. The cap 4 to 8 cm 1 ½ to 3 inches is almost conical with a blunt umbonate, that's means with a humped centre, that make this unique in it genus. Thus fairly easy to identify. It has a white stem and its gills are pale ochre. The cuticle is rather bitter thus while not poisonous it is not recommended to eat as it tastes awful.
