@ImYourSuperhero01 ... I'm not a very educated guy and I can't write very well and read even less. But much of my education comes from watching movies. This movie spoke to me. It says that Warmongers will keep on creating and fighting wars and there isn't much you can do about it. All you can do as an Artist or as a Humanitarian is to diffuse as many bombs as possible. You will lose people you like/love and your inner life will be HELL (grocery scene represents regular life) but KEEP GOING...

@doublesguy i respect your opinion and everything but ATOs (like james) often do it for the adrenaline rush its almost addicting they say thats why he was doing that

@FunVanDriver That's the subject, not the plot, mate. No need to get so defensive about the film, I'm just stating my opinion.

@ImYourSuperhero01 Do I have to spell it out for you? It's about a U.S. Army bomb squad fireteam. Do... You... Under... Stand? Why does it need a plot? I'd like to see you make a movie so I can talk shit about it. Go fuck yourself, prick.

I understand that people can have opinons, but in the end there is black, and white. This is not a good movie.
After seeing how well praised this movie is I was very disappointed. It's an okay movie, and I see the message...sorta that they were trying to convey, but not really?
Basically this douce bags disable bombs, chases Iraqis, shoots people and does it all again the next day...how in anyway does that make it a good movie?
It;s not realistic, has no depth, no POINT, and it's boring.

@ImYourSuperhero01 Pardon me for speaking, but you sound like you know nothing about the film, and how it was developed. This film was created to show just how gruesome the war in Iraq was, because there are many different stereotypes about the war. This movie was developed with this in mind first, and then there was some attempt to add depth and story to the story line. This had worked out very well in my opinion.

I thought The Hurt Locker was a very good film but it wasn't the best film in 2009. District 9 or Inglorious Bastards, in my opinion, should have won at the Oscars
@CGSOfficial i wasn't critisizing the grocery scene, i was saying it was completely out of place putting it towards the end. the whole structure of the film was a shambles. yes the scenes were beautiful, but in order for it to have an effect on the audience it needed to have a point, which it lacked considerably. I'm fully entitled to my own opinion and just because i dont agree with the over-the-top reviews saying it was a bloody masterpiece doesn't prove i'm TRYING to be a critic.

This film was crap;
see Generation Kill for a film that shows the same situation...but is well done.
Hurt Locker is filled with cliches, and the main character, who we NEVER get to know in any depth, is an asshole who thinks it's cute to not speak with the men guarding him. In the desert there's a shootout with another sniper where the Americans just act like fools... Of course all the Arabs in the film are evil or suspicious. It's a badly made cartoon.
District 9 got cheated out of the Oscar.
