Our case study in Europe is the town of Luton, near London: population approx 185,000. Job losses here are connected to the faltering car industry. A downturn in international travel could also affect business at Luton Airport, a key UK international gateway. The equivalent of the whole of one of the city's districts is now unemployed and claiming benefit. Figures show that unemployment has increased by 37 per cent in the last year.

  • I still love Luton but moved to a white part of England as soon as i could, there's less drugs and crime here and no shootings like the ones not reported in Luton.

  • @MrFes888 Where do you live? I know Luton is not the most wonderful, or attractive place in the world, but hey people live there, and it's their home. But can you tell me, since when has "90% of England is a shit hole"? I know parts of North Hertfordshire, South Essex, Surrey and South Bedfordshire are not that picturesque, but it is not all bad. There are some beautiful parts England. Get your head out of your backside you silly man!

  • @Hereticalable 90% of england is a shit hole, cant wait to get the hell out,and pay my taxes in a country that deserves my money

  • @yahoochat - I was born in Luton. "We" don't love the town, it's a dump with Muslim ghettos, miserable people and a high crime rate. I remember how they ruined Bury Park in the early 80s...used to be another middle working class neighbourhood and now it looks like a Karachi slum.

Multi-ethnic yes...good thing. Multi-cultural...bad thing. It's Britain, we already have a culture and don't need seperate areas for seperate cultures who cannot integrate because of their beliefs or racism.
