In New Orleans everyone gets a Christmas tree and a reath for Christmas! On New Years Eve though, everyone brings their trees and reaths to one spot and has a giant bonfire! That sound is an inhumane amount of Fireworks going off!
It was the best New Years Eve yet!!!

  • This from old European, Celtic paganism. The Celtic New Year is November 1st, but the night before is the night of the dead, later call All Hallows. The people would build a big bon fire and jump over it, naked. They would throw in old things that represented pain and bad luck. In British Isles, they would make large wheels of fire and roll them down hills to signify the return of the sun next spring.
