so incredibly motivated to do this! been swimming for some time now and just started a fitness routine in preparation! unfortunately i live in australia, ( i'm not saying i'm unfortunate) and the coast guard is volunteer based but i can't seem to find anything on rescue swimmer under coast guard, no idea what other derestriction it would be under!
don't know where to look! yet i keep training... signed up for the local life guard club for next summer! hope to find something out there.

You would be damn glad if that kid is going to sacrifice his life to save yours.
And I hope u know the difference between a lifeguard and coastguard.
Those trainings they get are hard.
Much harder than they show in some movie called; 'The Guardian' and harder than the movies on YouTube.
just sow a bid respect to the people who really do the job even if they are new at the job as he :)
