Filmfare Awards

The Filmfare Awards for playback singing first started in 1958. In 1956, the song 'Rasik Balma' from the film Chori Chori won the Best Song Filmfare Award. Lata refused to sing it live in protest of absence of a Playback Singer category. The category was finally introduced in 1958. Though, separate awards for male & female singers were introduced later on.

Lata Mangeshkar monopolized the best female playback singer award from 1958 to 1966. In 1969, Lata made the unusual gesture of giving up Filmfare awards in order to promote fresh talent...........

  • old is gold really........

  • Ghnghat 1960.is the remake of Milan 1946(Dilip Kumar Mira Misra) the is the film in which Beena Roy bagged Film Fare award as a best actress against Madhubala -Mughale Azam 1960,this is one of the worst examples of favoritism, nepotism and discrimination manifested by Film Fare godfather, every one knows that there is no comparableness between Madhubala and Beena Roy ,but talents need no official stamp and truth speaks itself.

  • This is masterpiece....what can i say ..no words to describe such lyrics and what singing by Lataji...All I can say "God bless All"
