wow, thank you! I must have accidentally hit that switch cause for the life of me I could not figure out why all of my controls seemed to lack the input they used to.

The DX6i also has this feature. It is called "GYRO". You can set this to any desired value and switch between two settings.

Very helpful- thanks! i also sometimes find the rudder response to be kind of sluggish- would you know why that might be?

@RCGEP the tail rotor motor doesn't last for ever so it may need to be replaced. Check that the shaft isn't bent on the tail motor (I bent mine after a crash), make sure the brass bushing hasn't come out of the end of the motor and check that the tail rotor hasn't been deformed and both sides are the same pitch. If all that looks ok, try a little oil into the motor and if that doesn't fix it then its time to replace it. Hope this helps.

If this is your first heli then I'd use the smaller swash movement setting. It'll make the heli more docile and easier to fly. Follow 'Radds School of Rotary Flight' (you can google it) to help you get in the air safely..
