Second James LaBrie video up now!! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BI89CIet8DA

Welcome to my first video in the tradition begun by YouTube user Jowox! Been meaning to do this for a while now, so here without further ado, are my favourite high notes from the voice of Dream Theater:

1. A sustained C#5 with trill to E5, from Take The Time.
2. A raspy D5 from The Mirror.
3. Eb5 then C#5 (with a trill to E between) from Another Day.
4. The second verse from Take The Time, nice high melody singing upto E5 here.
5. A short E5 from Another Day.
6. Sung D5s and the classic F5 from Innocence Faded.
7. The classic Learning To Live F#5! Very strong and connected. There is an excellent compilation of many live versions of this note on YouTube.
8. An F#5 mid-verse from Metropolis live at the Marquee.
9. An E5 and another F#5 at the climactic ending of Ayreon's Human Equation album!
10. An E5 and slide upto G5 from DT's Children Of The Damned cover. Higher than Bruce's original!
11 + 12. 2 impromptu G5s, from The Killing Hand in Live At The Marquee!
13. A great high sung passage also from The Killing Hand at the Marquee. Two G5s, an F5, and finally a D5 followed by a rather sharp F5.
14. The climactic G5 scream from Octavarium. In the spoken passage that precedes this, James goes down to F2.
15. The ending screams from Dream Theater's Cemetary Gates cover. E5, F#5 then G#5.
16. An A5 from DT's Number Of The Beast cover.

James has also hit A5 in live versions of Lines In The Sand, but I couldn't find any clips of good enough quality to include in this video.

As usual, I own nothing, don't do me for copyright.

  • Everytime he hits an F5 it´s so perfect, my page refreshes.

  • The Octavarium G5 from the Score DVD is better than the studio one.

  • Anyone who loves LaBrie's high notes, go check the live versions and demo version of Change of Seasons (it was originally going to be the 2nd disc of Images and Words!)

There are tons of great LaBrie moments on HenrikMoe90's page.

  • There is are a few in Live in Tokyo '93 like Take the Time and Pull Me Under (I think they are A5's or real close). Also To Live Forever from that same concert has a crazy bridge section where almost all the notes are about in that highest range.

  • @MlKEPORNTOY ur my influence on how to troll my friends..thank you. lol

  • Funny!!! I heard some covers i never heard before.

  • what about the passage in 'Voices?' that hits an E5 i think. actually i cant remember

  • I was enjoying a nice glass of coke. Then the glass shattered.

  • @JORDANVITALIJWIRMAN

My balls just look small next to my huge cock.

  • @MlKEPORNTOY And after that his balls are still bigger than yours.

  • @MasterFreespirit From Ayreon: The Human Equation, it's Day 20.

  • @MlKEPORNTOY We all know you're a troll, bro. Your efforts are ineffective.
