One extra note, if you ever see a KO, don't advertise it., even if it's a new type of puzzle. Though it will be interesting for everyone to see, IT WILL ALSO GENERATE THE WRONG KIND OF INTEREST!

Here's the list of the KO's I have so far:

Floppy Cube:
It's a Lanlan brand 1x3x3 cube. It's sold on Cube4you.com. It was legally sold on mefferts.com, but is now out of stock:
http://mefferts.com/products/details.php?lang=en&category=13&id=247
So if you ever see one, just don't buy it!

Hollow Cube:
It's a Lanlan void cube. It's sold on Cube4You. Ironically, the legal version on Cube4You's other website, cube2you.com! It's made by, Katsuhiko Okamoto & it is officially called the Void Cube:

The Lanlan brand is very cheap, so that'll give you a clue if you ever think you see one. Katsuhiko's is rather expensive, so be willing to pay a lot if you ever want a Void Cube.

Edge Only Hollow Cube:
Basically the same thing as the Hollow Cube, except it doesn't have any corners. There is no legal version of this cube, so just don't buy one.

Pillowed Mastermorphix:
It's again a Lanlan brand puzzle. This is a pillowed tetrahedron transformation of a 3x3. It's sold on Cube4You as KO. Mefferts is legal place to buy it, so only buy one if you see the Mefferts logo on! Here's the link to the black version:

Last update on 11-29-2009.

This is all I have so far. Any more feedback will be appreciated. I want info of KO's from Cube4You the most.

Here's a list of safe websites where you shouldn't have to worry about KO's:
http://www.rubiks.com/ (But their cubes are usually overpriced, & low quality.)
http://v-cubes.com/
http://mefferts.com/flash.php?lang=en
http://cube4you.com/ (Well, it should be safe as long as you know which puzzles are KO's.)
For any other websites, be careful! Especially eBay!

  • guys, its not whether that we give a shit about prices. its the fact that whenever you buy a knockoff of anything, you're hurting the original designer. same thing with pirated music... though even i'm guilty of this, as numerous others are. it's about the fact that if you keep buying the knockoffs, the original designer will decide that it's not worth the effort to keep making new puzzles. have some respect, people. and yes that could be called hypocrisy, but you get exactly what i mean.

  • Here's my theory.

A lot of cube companies (Most in China) like to stael the patent from V-Cubes. Now, since they're using V-Cubes's patent without permission, and it's their patent to use, shouldn't V-Cubes be allowed to steal the cube back? It's their patent, and if it's popular, it's got to be good. (It's not like Rubik's brand which you can buy phisically in a store) They should be able to adapt the 9x9, 6b and 11x11 (And more?) models.

  • @SwiftrunnerXXY Maybe a rich person like you that has 10 - 20 dollars to spend can buy the real versions. I happen to be less fortunate, oh and thanks for swearing at me.

  • @Rubikssportsdude1 I should be "quit". Quit I shouldn't be, quiet maybe I should be...

  • @Rubiktehedren how about u be quit he is just telling u so cool ur beans and go get some chill pills

  • no legal version of this cube? Dude that makes no sense. How could there be a puzzle that's a KO if there isn't a real version? ( I'm reffering to the edges only cube in the description)

  • @Rubiktehedren Bull crap.

I understand the high amount of development that goes into these puzzles. The cost of creating a new design, testing it, patenting it, creating machinery to mass-produce it, that all cannot be ignored. Then somebody goes and steals the design, cutting corners off the product and sells it as their own.

I'd gladly pay ten to twenty extra dollars on a puzzle to support the original designers. The ones who brought the puzzle into the world.

    And those who wouldn't?

    F$&! 'em.

  • @theunliked458 I'm just going to give trying to convince you dip shits that V-Cube is a knock off.

  • @rpg8778 Go look up 'knock off' on the internet. I'm sure you'll find out you're wrong. Plus Billy clearly said that knock off puzzles are copied puzzles WITH THE SAME MECHANISM as the original brand. And the V-cube 5 has five times more pieces than the original 5x5 so it is NOT a knock off. And there are three things you should get:

    A dictionary

The art of listening to people who are right

    A life

  • Well I want to buy the cheap shengshou 6x6 over the expensive v cube 6 that takes intense moding and breaking in to get fast

Plus if companies make their own variations of a cube and it's different enough then isn't it NOT a knock off?

  • @ColteeYT still a knock off and has the potential to hurt rubik's brand.

  • @rpg8778 The Rubik's company is the most successful cube brand on the planet. So many people that bought the Rubik's Professor Cube don't even know that there are other brands of cubes. The V-Cube company doesn't hurt Rubik's.
