India welcomes this year the Commonwealth Games. For this occasion, the entire country gets excited and prepared to such international event.
In new delhi streets are being rebuilt and government takes a hand on what they have given up for decades in order to give to the rest of the world a positive image of India.
After taking a nap, on my second day in India everything in Paharganj neighborhood was destroyed, litterally... I first thought about some bombing attacks (Word!) and was ready to head back to the airport (lol, I know impulsive me...) but then people told me the buildings being destoyed were illegally built many years ago and now they are fixing everything back before the Commonwealth games, in November 2010. Funny these buildings are destroyed today when nobody did care before. In my previous trips, I saw police men, even governmental agents shopping, drinking "Chai' tea or hang out with friends in these shops...

  • @TheYashu200 Man, jus to clear up a misunderstanding, this video was only to show my impressment of this neighborhood being destroyed that fast. It was Paharganj and we all know Paharganjj is not representative of all Delhi. I love Delhi, I have been to India 4 times

  • i m from delhi. and i feel pahadganj is always a messy area and dumped. and it will never get fully materialised bcoz of the conjested roads . what you are seeing was the streets of the delhi .

but actual delhi is not like that . i wont say it's like a new york city or any other world class . but it is constructed well well . got a big roads , metro , subway , good hotels , good markets . what you can more think with a developing nations .

  • @TheYashu200 That is absolutely true. To be honest, your metro is way muchbetter than ours (I'm from PAris!) And I have seen in Delhi some very beautiful places. Please do not feel offended I was just in shock by this, destroyed that fast Paharganj in an afternoon
