In 2007, Penwal Industries was commissioned by United Arab Emirates Airlines to build a 1/3 scale model of the new A380 Airbus airplane to reside at the entrance of the Heathrow airport in London. In 2008, it was completed and became the largest scale model ever built! This is the first look at the evolution of that amazing feat.

  • how much?

  • This is awesome. Just got back from Heathrow and saw it with my own eyes. It's huge! Looks like a real plane, around the size of a Boeing 737.

  • Whats the point of it ? To big to an rc and to small to be a real plane .

  • I'm sorry - but I have a really hard time believing that someone built this in under a minute...

  • Whats really cool is that it is larger than most commuter jets and is larger than a 737!!

  • Nice!!

  • wow

  • @oomblikkies how ignorant is taht comment of urs... wow.

  • I am the production manager at Penwal. While I was not a Penwal during this particular project I am very proud of our accomplishment as a company. There is not a day that passes that someone in the shop doesn't mention "The A-380 Project" in the course of normal daily conversation.... it's a huge piece of our history and everyone is very proud of it.

  • I thought it was going to be rc!

  • it should be RC

  • Nice perfect!!!!!

    5/5*
