At the July 23, 2009 Lebanon County Commissioners meeting, Carl Jarboe condemned Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz for participating in the Lebanon Community Theaters rendition of Footloose, which was nominated 1984 Academy Award for Best Song ("Let's Hear It For the Boy") by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

He said that the scene at the bar where the Country Kickers are dancing is inappropriate because a bar serves alcohol. Commissioner Litz responded that sodas are available for the students. Script in the play also enters into a discussion about who will be the designated driver. "Willard" then offers the girls a soda.

  • Where is that hero, Kevin Bacon, when you need him? :)

(If you haven't seen the play, "Holding out for a Hero" is sung by Aerial who ends up as Ren's girlfriend. In the movie, Kevin Bacon played Ren. In the Lebanon Community Theater production, Travis Zimmerman plays Ren.)

  • @EChangApe what are you one of his victims? The guy is a Looney, Him and his wife have no life and just love to harrass the good people of lebanon. The guy loves to watch young girls on stage then complain about. Talk about calling the kettle black. So if you like Carl so much go blow him A-hole.

  • But the man has a good point. If was soda yes, but it represented alcohol.
