You know that they're going to reenact this on the Colbert Report next week. Sean Connery is going to be reading Bentsen and Vince Vaughn is going to be reading Quayle.

damn i had forgotten just how incredibly incompetent dan quayle was. look at him totally looking away when he's about to get schooled.  and then look at him when he says the remark was uncalled for. he looks like a little boy about to cry. unbelievable.

Bentsen knew, for a couple of weeks, that Quayle had been seeming comparing himself to JFK on the campaign trail when the issue of experience came up. So, Bentsen and his team came up with the "You're no Jack Kennedy" line in advance and they were just hoping that Quayle would be dumb enough to walk into the trap. Which was precisely what he did. You can tell that Bentsen saw he had the opportunity when Quayle brings up Kennedy and Bentsen's eyes just lit up. Classic stuff.

I am a Huge Jack Kennedy Fan, and am currently writing my senior thesis on him, this is just really funny

i'm a liberal and i'm hardly a quayle fan, but i think bentsen was being a bit silly. quayle didn't say "i'm exactly like jack kennedy," he just said he had as much congressional experience as him, that's all.

For someone who spelled Potato "potatoe" infront of a group of elementary school kids. He fully deserved that diss from Bentsen
