  • at 3:54 you'll hear Hannya Haramita Shingyo (Heart Sutra). around 5:30...they start in with the Fudo Myoo Mantra (The wisdom King). it's very short and they do it three times...i think. It's kinda hard to keep up with the speed of the chanting. Normally, it's done 3times. Around 6:45 you'll hear the name Kobo Daishi> The founder of Shingon. Also, said to have developed one of the three alphabets in Japan (Hiragana) based on using Sanskrit.

  • It's actually Shingon. They chant about Kobo Daishi, which is the founder of shingon. Also, it is not the lotus sutra. You can hear them say hannya Shingyo which is the Heart Sutra. Also, they are fluctuating between the heart sutra and the mantra for Fudo Myoo. This is typical for a Goma(Fire Ceremony). Great video! reminds me of when I lived there and would go to temple!

  • That was incredible. a little different then what I would have thought, but beautiful.

  • lie japan

  • Tendai or Shingon?

  • a nice service if the 25th chapter of the Lotus Sutra from the Tendai sect!

  • Kool.

  • Thankyou so much.
